Since I am taking a year off from college and I still live at home, I cherish every day that I can get out of the house. I don't live in downtown, so to go anywhere, I have to make a bit of a trip out of it. I guess that's the problem with living "almost in the West Hills," as a girl I used to go to school with so kindly put it to me once. Ha ha.
Today my mom and I went to Yoga Bhoga in SE Portland, and we took a great Hatha Flow class from the owner, Scott Lennartz. Then we headed over to Mother's Bistro, and I had a Cajun Frittata, which was delicious, except after I ate it, I realized that the sour cream I thought I was smearing all over it was actually butter. Hmmm. I was wondering why it seemed to melt into the frittata. So a little word of advice: if you go to Mother's, or any other restaurant for that matter, and you get a little jar of what looks like sour cream, taste it before you slather your meal with it.
Anyhow, here are some of my favorite shots from today, with my mamma:

The Night
Night is probably my favorite time of day because of the calmness. Most people are home, cozy behind their lit windows, maybe drinking some coffee or tea. The light is not so shocking and severe at night (though, in Portland, the perpetual grey skies make the daytime light a little dull). No matter the daytime light, though (grey or bright), a twilight walk never fails to restore my energy and put me in a better mood. Here are some takes from blue hour:
Welcome
This blog will serve as an artistic diary, where I will post works in process. Most of the time I am a perfectionist, but I will use this space to experiment with unfinished works of art. I hope you guys enjoy. :)
